The U.S. Men’s National Amputee Soccer Team kicked off their Gold Cup 2025 campaign in commanding fashion with a 4–0 win over Guatemala. The match, held in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico, was a showcase of Team USA’s preparation, chemistry, and hunger to earn a spot at the 2026 Amputee World Cup.
Musabwa Nzirimwo led the charge with an incredible performance, scoring a hat trick and assisting team captain Nico Calabria for the fourth goal. From the opening whistle, the U.S. team set the tempo, applying pressure and controlling possession. Their dominance paid off early and often, with Nzirimwo proving to be a constant threat in the final third.
This victory sets the tone for what the U.S. hopes will be a deep run in the tournament. With a day of rest ahead, the squad now shifts its focus to their next opponent—Costa Rica—on Thursday, July 10th at 8 PM EST.
