Jordan Obernesser: The Youngest Star on the U.S. National Men's Amputee Soccer Team


At just 15 years old, Jordan Obernesser is making history as the youngest member of the American Amputee Soccer Association, having recently joined the U.S. National Men’s Amputee Soccer Team. His inspiring journey to overcome adversity and return to the sport he loves is nothing short of remarkable.


Soccer has always played a major role in Jordan’s life, but his path took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with cancer. Faced with the reality of losing his leg, he feared his days of playing soccer were over.



"Soccer has always been a huge part of my life," Jordan shares, "but after my cancer diagnosis, and realizing I would soon lose my leg, I thought I would never play the sport I love again."


Despite the challenges, Jordan's passion for the game never wavered. Now, he’s preparing to represent the U.S. in his first international tournament, the Gold Cup, set to take place in Honduras.


"I’m proud to say that my love for soccer is stronger than ever, and I am honored to join the @usamputeesoccer team! I am so thankful to have this opportunity to be a part of this group of incredible athletes who inspire me every day."
