AASA Welcomes Darren Wynne to Coaching Staff

The American Amputee Soccer Association (AASA) is proud to announce the addition of Coach Darren Wynne to our national team coaching staff. With over two decades of coaching experience and a decorated career both on and off the field, Coach Wynne brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our growing program.

Coach Wynne joins us from Bryant & Stratton College Rochester, where he has led the men’s soccer team since its inception in 2021. In just a few short years, he transformed the Bobcats into a national powerhouse. His resume includes a 2023 USCAA National Championship, multiple No. 1 rankings at the USCAA National Tournament, and a sweep of the North American Conference titles in 2024.

Prior to that, Coach Wynne made a name for himself across multiple collegiate programs, including SUNY Oswego, SUNY Brockport, and Alfred University. He also played a pivotal role in revitalizing the program at Cayuga Community College, where his leadership earned him regional coaching honors. Beyond the college game, Wynne has contributed to youth development through the NYWYSA Olympic Development Program and as Technical Director at Rochester Football Club.

Wynne’s impact on the game extends beyond coaching. As a former professional player, he represented clubs in Ireland (Sligo Rovers, Newry Town, Home Farm Everton), England, and the U.S. indoor scene. He also proudly represented Ireland at the U14 to U20 levels.

In addition to his vast experience, he brings an impressive coaching pedigree with certifications including the USSF National B and C Licenses, the UEFA B Pro License, and the FAI Senior A License. He is currently preparing to pursue the U.S. Soccer A License later this year.

“We are excited to add Coach Wynne to our staff,” said Head Coach Jason Fiscina. “His over 20 years of coaching experience will be a great asset to our team. He will oversee the defense along with video operations.”

Coach Wynne’s addition comes at a crucial time as AASA prepares for the upcoming North & Central American Amputee Championship in July — a qualifier for the 2026 Amputee World Cup in Costa Rica. His eye for structure, development, and defensive coordination will help elevate the team as they push for global success.
