AASA Appoints Alexandra Keaney as Women's National Team Head Coach, Welcomes New Fundraising Lead
The American Amputee Soccer Association (AASA) is proud to announce two pivotal leadership appointments: Alexandra Keaney as the new Head Coach of the U.S. Women's National Amputee Soccer Team, and Yolonda Addison as the organization's new Fundraising and Organizational Lead.
These strategic additions mark a major milestone for AASA as the organization strengthens both its elite athletic pipeline and long-term operational infrastructure.
Alexandra Keaney Named Head Coach of the U.S. Women's National Team
Alexandra Keaney steps into the head coaching role with a decorated background in elite player development and inclusive sports programming. A native of Liverpool, England, Keaney spent the past eight years serving as the Director of Coaching for the Girls Academy at Downtown United Soccer Club (DUSC) in New York.
Keaney holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Development with Inclusion and Physical Education from Liverpool John Moores University, along with a Master’s in Global Sports Management from New York University. Her extensive licensing portfolio includes a U.S. Soccer National "B" License, The FA Level 1 and 2 badges, and specialized FA certification in Coaching Disabled Footballers. She is currently completing her U.S. Soccer National "A" License, slated for graduation in June 2027.
"I believe in creating an environment where players are encouraged to be brave, creative, and confident, while developing the competitive mentality needed to perform at the highest level," said Keaney. "I am excited to lead the USA Women's Amputee Soccer Team and help continue to build a program and culture capable of competing with the very best in the world."
With international competitions on the horizon, Keaney's tactical background and dedication to athlete empowerment will directly shape the roster's competitive foundation.
"As we gear up for the Women's Amputee World Cup, it is crucial that we have leadership that will inspire greatness in our players," stated AASA Board President Dr. Eric Lamberg. "We are incredibly fortunate to have Alex leading our national team athletes from the sideline."
Yolonda Addison Joins to Lead Organizational and Strategic Fundraising
Strengthening AASA's executive and operational footprint, Yolonda Addison joins the organization bringing over 15 years of proven success in non-profit management, strategic partnerships, high-impact fundraising, and sports governance.
Addison previously served over a decade in senior executive leadership with the Congressional Black Caucus PAC. During her tenure, she directed donor engagement strategies and operational frameworks that scaled total revenue from approximately $3 million to over $11 million per election cycle. Her expertise will focus on securing sustainable corporate sponsorships, expanding national donor pipelines, and scaling grassroots community programming.
"I am excited to support AASA at such a pivotal moment in the organization's history," Addison said. "I look forward to strengthening our operational foundation and driving resource growth so amputee soccer can thrive in communities nationwide."
