Kraków, Poland Selected to Host the 2027 WAFF Women’s Amputee Football World Cup

The global movement of women’s amputee soccer is officially heading to Europe.

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) announced that the historic city of Kraków, Poland will serve as the host city for the 2027 WAFF Women’s Amputee Football World Cup.

The announcement marks the second edition of the tournament and comes on the heels of an unforgettable inaugural World Cup in Barranquilla, Colombia where Team USA finished second place. That debut competition brought together national teams from across the globe, proved the incredible caliber of competition within women’s adaptive sport, and laid a foundation that captured international attention.

With the Polish Amputee Football Association securing the winning bid in partnership with the City of Kraków, preparations now begin for what is slated to be the largest and most competitive tournament in the history of the women's game. Poland’s national program has been a major pillar for the European game—taking home the bronze medal in Colombia—and will now welcome the world’s elite athletes to their home turf.

Backed by ongoing support from the FIFA Foundation, this tournament represents far more than trophies and match fixtures. It highlights an era of rapid expansion, visibility, and empowerment for athletes with limb differences worldwide.
